A Wake UP Call For The 90% Internet Users In The Philippines

Year 2012 social media statistics reflects that "Philippines has the highest social media penetration, with more  than 90% of its Internet users visiting a social networking site every month". One would wonder if the said "90%" are conscious of what's going on with the world today, or are they aware about the crisis arising from the forceful emergence of "one world government". Least do they know that since the country is allied with the "West", what's going on out  there is also taking shape in their government and everyday life.

It is quite easy, simple, most of the time exciting and entertaining to read messages and view images in a box provided by  a social network. For most of the "90%", watching documentary films, reading research, analysis reports, and longer news  updates worldwide are just "boring", "nosebleed", "wall of text", and "a blinding curtain". I guess, "in the pursuit of happiness", watching music video, cartoons, viewing ridicule images and insults, following and sharing ones daily personal life, and playing games is far popular this days.

Take for instance the ramifications of R.A. 10175 which seems a shock to most of the "90%". This law has been in  the legislature and out in the public for two years now. How many of the "90%" knows about it, the protests against it, or  the unconstitutional provisions therein that will affect their social media activities. Do the "90%" honestly believe that  our legislature and the Chief Executive don't understand the language used and the framework of R.A. 10175 vis-a-vis the 1987 Constitution, don't hear the  voices of the petitions submitted against it, and unconscious of the opposition made in every consultation held before it is  finally approved and signed into law? Do the "90%" believe that the Judiciary Department has no knowledge about the coming of  this law or just waiting for a new Supreme Court that will ignore it? Do the "90%" know the issues and timing involved in paving the way for the passing of this law and it's origin? Somehow, am not sure if answers to these questions will fit in  the message box or did they frequently appear in it for the past two years.

I wonder if the "90%" is getting awake in this era of "death of human freewill", that started 30 years ago, which now redefined the basic concepts of "free world" and "sustainable development". An era where nations are lost as to where "equal protection of law", "freedom of expression", "right to privacy" and other time honored human principles once stood.

I am glad that R.A. 10175 is starting an experience of "conscientization" for the "90%".
